
As was reported yesterday, ongoing work at Beecraigs Country Park has identified evidence for significant prehistoric activity. The photographs on this page were taken by members of the West Lothian Archaeology Group during a visit to the site. The image above shows the shallow remains of substantial post-holes in the foreground, with the ring ditch in the top left-hand corner, while that below shows the circular enclosure in more detail. The black staining visible in this picture is shale rather than charcoal associated with a hearth.
