Finds from Glenshellach

Following on from previous fieldwork conducted in 2010, Dr Clare Ellis of Argyll Archaeology is undertaking a further phase of excavation at Glenshellach, Oban, in advance of a proposed housing development. As with the earlier work, this has identified features and finds associated with prehistoric occupation. Selected images are shown below.

Also present on site, though not illustrated above, are areas of burning, linear features and the remains of a possible round-house. Excavation on the site is still ongoing, and no post-excavation analysis has yet been conducted; however, this will follow completion of the site.
