NS 951 279. Earthwork, Woodend (Site): Crop-markings on air photographs reveal the presence of an oval earthwork 110m SE of Woodend, on a gently sloping natural terrace overlooking the River Clyde. It measures about 120m from E to W by 110m transversely over a broad ditch, in which a gap on the SW probably marks the entrance. On the S and E there are intermittent traces of a narrower outer ditch.
RCAHMS 1978, visited 1976
Though previously classified as an earthwork recent aerial photography (RCAHMSAP 1995) suggest that this site is now only visible as cropmarks and can be interpreted as a settlement.
