This search facility, which was developed in conjunction with South Ayrshire Council, can be tried at http://gis.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/wosas/. Using this system, you can find out about sites, monuments and previous archaeological events from across the area covered by the West of Scotland Archaeology Service, either by identifying single features on the map or by selecting groups of features by drawing search areas onto the map. A basic guide to using the system is available in the 'Getting Started' box to the left of the main map panel, but to find out more about the full functionality of the system, you should use the 'Help' button on the toolbar.

Thanks go to Stewart McCall and the ICT Services Team at South Ayrshire Council for their work in developing this system. Any comments on the system or problems experienced while using it should be referred to Martin O'Hare at the West of Scotland Archaeology Service
